Its A Wonderful Life (Hosea 2:21-23)

"In that day'" says the Lord, "I will give an answer to the heavens, and they will give an answer to the earth. 22 The earth will give an answer to the grain, the new wine, and the oil. And they will give an answer to Jezreel. 23 I will plant her for Myself in the land. Those who were not loved, I will call, 'My loved ones.' Those who were not My people, I will call, 'My people.' And they will say, 'You are my God!' "

I just love it when everything clicks. Do you know what I'm talking about? Those days when everything seems to be going right. I love it when the things I do work out the way I wanted them to.
If you were to describe the perfect day, what would it be like? To be honest, I can't really answer that now. It isn't something I had thought about in a while. But I remember when I was working security as a senior at Central Bible College. I had the 1 AM to 7 AM shift. Most people would hate those hours, but for me they weren't really all that bad. For the most part it was a pretty laid back shift. I used to brag that they paid me to walk around and pray for my campus.
On the best days I had everything timed just right so that by 6:30 or so the entire campus was unlocked and I would be in the dining hall (which actually opened at 6:45) making myself some breakfast. We had a little make your own omelet section and t hey tried to have the things all set up for me there a little early. I'd cook up the ham and set it aside, then I'd cook up some onion, green pepper, and tomatoes. I'd add a little of their precooked hash browns, throw in the meat, and then mix a couple eggs that I would scramble into the concoction. When everything was cooked up right, I'd throw some sharp cheddar, maybe a little salsa and I had my own scuttlebutt.
Then I'd take my breakfast and drive in the security cart over to the hill. Seated there I would eat my breakfast while watching the sun rise through the trees on the other side of our little pond. On the best days it would be just a little bit cloudy, just enough for the rising sun to play artist with various shades of pink and yellow and orange through the slowly moving wisps on the horizon. It would be maybe low seventies high sixties with the promise of topping out at eighty sometime in the late afternoon. And of course it would be a Tuesday or a Thursday. For me that meant I had one class at 7:30 and then nothing else until late afternoon. I would have an entire morning to do as I pleased. (Usually that meant sleep.)
Can you picture a day, or a morning, like that? What does it sound like when you describe it? I know what it sounds like when Hosea describes it. "I can hear God's voice responding to me. Not only that, but the heavens can hear his voice as well and they respond in a symphony of color and beauty and majesty. In turn, the earth responds and sends to me that perfect weather, and that slight cooling breeze. In response to the earth the land produces only the finest products. (It was an agrarian society) The grain harvest is incredible in both quantity and quality. The vines produce the juiciest grapes, and the trees the best olives.
As I'm writing this I'm singing that song in my head: "There's a bluebird on my shoulder, there's a baby on my knee. There's a treasure in my pocket, there's an angel in my tree. Let's pick a thousand flowers. Better yet, let's watch them grow. One thing I'll tell you is the one thing I know: It's a wonderful life."

One of my favorite songs is "It's a Wonderful Life" by Newsong. When I'd be driving to work as the sun rose or on the way home at sunset, I often had that feeling. One of the worst times in my life, having to work away from my kids, often felt like the best at that moment. Another great song for that feeling was "The Wonder of It All" by Todd Agnew. Check those songs out. They each bring back a great memory.

Your title made me think of the old Jimmy Stewart film, It's A Wonderful Life, although the topic of that movie probably pertains to your previous post about loveand responsibitiliy. lol. I loved reading this. It was as if I was reading about the perfect dream come true.
