Israel is stubborn as a mule. Ephraim is addicted to idols. Let him go. When the beer runs out, its sex, sex, and more sex. Bold and sordid debauchery - how they love it! The whirlwind has them in its clutches. Their sex-worship leaves them finally impotent.

(Hosea 4:16-19 The Message)

There's a music video by Mr. J Medeiros of the Procussions called Constance. Anyone can watch it on YouTube and I would encourage everyone to do so. These are the lyrics:

An old man vacationing, he stands patiently, under a hotel sign that blinks vacancy.

He's thinking maybe he's too late to make the drop off, till a truck coming his way breaks and stops short.

And now he's out of sorts and you can see he's sorts nervous walking to the passenger door, to meet his ordered service.

This is someone's daughter working, blames his conscience.

When the driver says, "This is my youngest. Her name is Constance." He comments,

"And it's only six dollars per visit. Just don't leave any marks on her. It hurts business."

Thought for a minute and confessed that's fair. 'Cause it was three dollars less than his cab fare.

How old are you honey? She says, "I'm thirteen" Her nose is runny. It's raining in the Philippines.

He handed over the money, in a chilling scene the truck drives off, and now he's on the hunt to kill her dreams.

The sign reads no vacancy. He leads Constance to her room, he has rented for taping see.

He is about to turn six into six thousand. And all you've got to do is click on your web browser.

It's not illegal to use raping as a cash crop. As long as it says she's 18 on your laptop.

The sound of rain is a backdrop. Playing there, while she's waiting for somebody to say they care.

While the tears of God fall on the window pane. She feels unholy like the Father doesn't know her name.

Mary Magdalene. The woman at the well. He knew everything that happened.

And in His arms she fell

He's 21 and all alone in his household. He's tempted by the quiet he feels, and the mouse he holds.

The silence of his spouse is cold. So he's about to help that man get his six thousand gold.

One click and now she's sold. Withholding his conscience, scrolling through the comments.

There she is looking confident. A picture of Constance and a series of video clips.

Adult Content, the title links in bold letters like a vacancy sign. It's his time to go get her.

It's like his mind doesn't know better. Her soul is crying out, "Let me go!"

But he won't let her. He's got her trapped inside his media player, held captive by his need to replay her.

It's a matter of he being here and she being there, that's why he doesn't feel the need to care.

Guilt is in the seed he bears. Spillin the shares on the profit of a five hundred million dollar market.

Where children are regarded as product and traded like stock tips and rates for the sake of a pocket.

His laptop sits like a window into Constance's room.

Where he exits 'cause it's almost noon and he's expecting his wife home soon.

With new clothes for the baby, she'd be angry if she saw his new lady.

A thirteen year old Filipina named Constance.

Trust me girl, God has not forgotten.

He knew Mary Magdalene, and the woman at the well.

He knows everything that happens.

And in His arms she fell

I have to pause for a minute. Please, just stop and think about this. In just one year (2001) the FBI estimated that seven hundred thousand women and children were trafficked for sexual exploitation. I'm not talking about prostitution. I'm not talking about promiscuity. Those numbers in themselves are epidemic. I'm talking about rape and slavery. Seven hundred thousand each year. Does it rip at your heart like it does mine? Seven hundred thousand souls and lives and dreams and hopes shattered. Seven hundred thousand.

America is as stubborn as a mule. We are addicted to the idol of sexuality. Let us go. When our beer runs out, its sex, sex, and more sex. Bold and sordid debauchery - how we love it! The whirlwind has us in its clutches. Our pornography and sex-worship leaves us spiritually impotent.

Please God. Forgive us.

I agree, but what are we supposed to do about it?

) Pray.

2) If you are addicted to pornography, get free. At any cost. If not, help hold others accountable. Do not keep quiet on the issue.

3) Help support organizations like Project Rescue: http://www.projectrescue.com

I was talking about this tonight with a friend and they pointed me to a site that has books, a petition, information, and loads more on what we can do now.

Sodom and Gomorrah would have been saved but for the lack of ten righteous men. i have been fighting slavery in America for the past several years, the tragedy is that it continues with no government involvement. most legislators do not want to admit that it is happening in this country.

Oh, how true and you hit the hammer on the head with this one.  Thank you for posting this.  I hope you get alot of peoples attention on this one.  I have 2 daughter and have sheltered them from this stuff.  They are one of a few girls in church that don't wear clothes that show there skin. They also know that God won't be pleased with them if they go that route.

I bet that gov't has a hand in it...either that or they just really don't care.  In addition to fighting these occurances, we MUST pray.  We must pray for forgiveness and we must pray that our efforts do not go unnoticed.

I'll have to say this is a subject that has become close to my heart in recent weeks.  Maybe it's because of the whole issue of "social justice" as it relates the Gospel.  Yes, the bondages of pornography should be and are being exposed, but I fear we're only dealing with one side of the issue; there are two slaves for every one click of the mouse...and if it's the church's job to declare liberty to the captives, who is declaring freedom to the captives in the alleys and cheap hotel rooms?

Well said, my friend!
